EP Review – Music Connection Magazine, National 2004

“On this eight-song CD, Kelly shows a crafty command of the pop-rock form and appealing voice that’s needed to carry such tunes as “Break the Glass” and “How Long.”

CD Review – Transmission Magazine, Albuquerque, NM. April/ May 2004

Santa Fe singer/ songwriter and Chicago transplant. Astra Kelly has released an EP of incredibly well crafted and thought provoking songs. This is by far one of the best local albums I’ve heard in a very long time. Standouts are “Spanishtown” and “Break the Glass” with lines like, “pain is an emotional teacher and if it is knowledge we seek, why are we afraid to experience everything?” – S.M.

Blurb, The Santa Fe Reporter, December 2003

“With an intense delivery that bespeaks Ani DiFranco, Astra Kelly practices a hard-edged yet folkish, ever-so-slightly jazzy brand of emotional exorcism.” – D.P.

Performance Review – Wright College Of Chicago - 2000

“The music is hard-driving, strumming acoustic guitar. The lyrics read like poetry with phrases that find permanent homes in your head. Throughout her music, Astra strings sentences together that connect as something universal.” – J.A.

Performance Review – Chicago Sun-times, July 1999

“Jazz elements fused with unique elements of rock, strengthened by Kelly’s incredibly forceful voice and able guitar hammering, Far Rockaway rocks away!” – M.B.
